The arrest of a local woman on Tuesday culminated a four-month investigation into allegations of fraud.

Socorro Mariana Garza, 40, was apprehended April 10 and arraigned by Justice of the Peace David Garza the following day on four counts of fraudulent use of identifying information and one count of theft – all state jail felonies in which bond was set at $5,000 per count.

Police reported that Garza bonded out the day of her arraignment.

Her charges stem from accusations that she profited from “closed accounts” she reopened while working at Toledo Finance and Loan, located on the 100 block of North Sam Houston Boulevard in San Benito.
