In the event of an emergency in which a man, woman or child’s life hangs in the balance, knowing exactly where to direct police is vital; still, a dispatcher’s work often goes unnoticed.

From April 8-14, Public Safety Telecommunicators Week recognizes the work of emergency dispatchers whose role as 9-1-1 operators is not just crucial but necessary.
According to a proclamation signed by Governor Rick Perry on March 16, Telecommunicators Week honors the 9-1-1 operators as men and women who are “dedicated to saving lives.”
