Authorities said the driver of a cement truck was fortunate to walk away with his life after being struck by a train in San Benito on Wednesday.

According to Public Information Officer J.J. Treviño of the Brownsville Police Department (BPD), which responded to the accident along with San Benito police and firemen, the driver of the truck, who has yet to be identified, did sustain injuries as a result of the accident but none of which were life threatening.

Although officers on the scene said the injuries the driver sustained were to his head and arms, the extent of which has yet to be released.
