What began as a routine traffic stop initiated by a parking violation ended in two suspects arrested on multiple charges, including possession of crack cocaine, after they crashed the vehicle they were driving while attempting to elude police in San Benito on Friday.
It was approximately 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 24 when a canine officer with the San Benito Police Department (SBPD) attempted to pull over a black Chevrolet Cavalier z24, which at the time was traveling on the 200 block of W. Robertson Street, for a parking violation.
Assistant Operations Chief Michael Galvan said the driver of the vehicle, identified as 30-year-old San Benito Rodolfo De La Rosa, tried evading police instead.
