RIO HONDO – A video reportedly showing the brutal beating of a Rio Hondo teen led to the apprehension of a fellow high school student, according to Precinct 4 Cameron County Constable Robert Lopez’s Department.
Investigator Jose Zamorano of the constable’s office reported Friday that a 17-year-old male attending Rio Hondo High School was recently charged with assault class “A” for the November 2011 beating of a 16-year-old classmate.
According to Zamorano, the suspect is accused of confronting the victim on campus before taking their dispute elsewhere.
