Charter committee talks forfeiture

City of San BenitoLast Thursday, the San Benito Charter Review Committee met for the first time to discuss suggestions on how to revise the charter.

As previously reported by the News, the San Benito City Commission approved of the committee last month to help review said charter and to focus on what they deem is needed clarification. According to Mayor Joe H. Hernandez, the charter had areas that “are very vague and hard to enforce.”

During the Dec. 20 meeting, the commissioners approved of the five board members – Charlie Wilson, Pete Claudio, Lawrence Drake, Zeke Luna, and Gavino Sotello – and advised them review the charter for possible revisions.
