Greyhounds clinch 32-5A title share

Editor’s Note: On Saturday, Nov. 5, the Brownsville Pace Vikings defeated the then-number one Weslaco Panthers, 28-21. The Panthers’ loss allows San Benito to clinch a co-championship in District 32-5A along with Weslaco as both schools share 6-1 district records. A full story will be published in the Nov. 9 mid-week edition.

Hound logoWith every ending, there is a beginning. The San Benito Greyhounds district season finale against the Hanna Eagles is one to proclaim resulting in a 6-1 record in 32-5A district and 8-2 overall. They outshined the Eagles Friday night with a 52-0 upper hand over the Eagles who ended their district record at 2-5 and 3-7 overall.

The San Benito Greyhounds ran the football field at Sam’s stadium in Brownsville. It may be possible to fly like an eagle, but these Greyhounds could not be outrun.

    Since 1990 the Greyhounds have now won District championships in 90,93,99,04 and now 11. Way to go HOunds.
