PROGRESO – Coming out of a bye week, the rested Bobcats of Rio Hondo will travel to Progreso on Friday, where they’ll face the Red Ants in what will be the team’s first district game.
Rio Hondo (3-2) had defeated Raymondville, 7-0, in a defensive battle on Sept. 23. A week prior, the ’Cats also took care of the Jersey Bulls from Falfurrias in a blowout 27-0 game.
So it’s safe to say that the Bobcats went into the bye week with some momentum. It’s momentum that fans hope will carry over to the opening week of district play.
