It’s one thing for a teacher to discourage bullying; it’s something else entirely when the message is delivered by professional basketball players.
At least those are the intentions of Miller Jordan Middle School Science Dean Dr. Cindy Clayborn, who’s organized an anti-bullying rally to be held on campus Friday, Oct. 14.
Attending will be members of the Texas Fuel Basketball Team of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The desired effect, Clayborn said, is to reach children about the dangers of bullying through another, more appealing avenue.

I GO TO MJMS AND DR.CLAYBORNE IS A NICE TEACHER AND WE DO WORK VERY HARD THEY GET PEOPLE TO COME TO GIVE US A LITTLE TREAT FOR BEHAVING AND WORKING HARD AND WHEN PEOPLE COME THEY TEACH US HOW TO BE A BETTER PERSON SO PLEASE DONT TALK BAD ABOUT THE SCHOOL I GO TO I DONT APRRECIATE YOUR NEGATIVITY AND I THINK ANY OF MY FELLOW CLASSMATES WOULD EITHER
What is the science dean always setting up all these rallies? What that school needs is academic help to better educate the students. The teachers and principals also need training on how to become professional employees. What a waste of money on this. Instead on focusing and emphasizing with athletes, Whorton, the hockey player, and now this, Clayborn should STOP. Miller Jordan needs to stress EDUCATION!
