NEWS Staff Report
A 14-year-old girl reported missing Thursday returned home to her family over the weekend, according to San Benito police.
Lieutenant Martin Morales of the San Benito Police Department (SBPD) reported that 14-year-old Linda Luna of San Benito returned Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. She was said to be in good health.
“She voluntarily came back across after contacting her family. She’s just not very talkative as far as why she ran, where was or who she was with… just that she was okay, and that was it,” Morales said.
The lieutenant further reported that Luna was recovered at the Los Indios Free Trade Bridge. It was reported in the San Benito News July 10 weekend edition that police believed she had crossed into Mexico with a boyfriend. However, Morales said, as of now, police have found no cause to warrant further investigation.
