RIO HONDO – City Manager Arturo Prida was terminated Tuesday night following a unanimous vote of the Rio Hondo City Commission.
City Attorney Eddie Lucio, III, who also serves as State Representative for District 38, confirmed Wednesday morning that Prida was indeed terminated and will be receiving a two-week severance package; the amount of which has not been disclosed as of yet.
Attempts by the News to reach Prida, Mayor Alonzo Garza and Commissioners Enrique Tello and Jerry Hartzog have thus far been unsuccessful. Commissioner Gus Olivares, who Lucio said made the motion to terminate Prida’s employment, deferred comment to the city attorney.
