The San Benito Lady ’Hounds are bringing it home.
After defeating the Eagle Pass Winn Lady Mavericks in San Antonio on Friday with a score of 17-0, the Lady ’Hounds will be back home at Lady ’Hound Stadium as they are set to take on the Edinburg North Lady Cougars in the Regional Quarterfinals round of the 5A state softball playoffs.
The three-game series against the Lady Cougars is set to start on Thursday at 7 p.m. in San Benito. Game two will have the Lady ’Hounds traveling to Edinburg on Friday; game time is also set for 7 p.m.
If the Lady Cougars can prevent the Lady ’Hounds from sweeping them right out of the state playoffs a third game will be played Saturday at 2 p.m. back in San Benito.
The Lady ’Hounds have acquired an overall record of 30-3 as the Lady Cougars stand at 29-7.
A victory over the weekend will have the Lady ’Hounds advancing to the regional semifinals. A trip to the next round won’t come easy for the Lady ’Hounds as the Lady Cougars will be seeking vengeance after the Lady ’Hounds knocked them out of the playoffs last year in the first round.
