#EXCLUSIVE: SBCISD urges parents to check backpacks after ‘knife’ incident

SBCISD officials are urging parents to make sure they always check their children’s backpacks before school after an elementary student brought a knife onto campus Wednesday morning.

According to a statement from the District, the incident occurred at Angela Leal Elementary and involved a small pocket knife.  The District noted that they are taking all the necessary disciplinary measures but assured, “that no child was ever hurt or threatened as a result” of the incident.
