A San Benito man was sentenced to six years in prison last week after pleading guilty to three felony charges stemming from a 2015 hit-and-run case in Pharr. Elliot Lozoya, 22, pled guilty on January 4 to two counts of accident involving serious bodily injury and one count of intoxicated assault with a vehicle.
According to court records, Lozoya struck three bicyclists last February in Pharr while driving drunk and did not stop to render aid. Lozoya was facing up to 10 years in prison for each of the five felony charges he was facing. By pleading guilty, however, he had two of those charges dismissed.
