If you were hoping for a break from the blistering heat that’s been burning up the Valley lately, your best bet would be to avoid stepping outside as much as you can. The heat isn’t stopping anytime soon, with the daily high temperature not expected to drop below 95 for at least the next 10 days, according to weatherchannel.com.
Temperatures will flirt with the century mark for most of the next few days with the heat index topping off at well over 100. While most San Benito residents have grown accustomed to the heat, many will agree this year has seemed just a little more unbearable than usual. “I definitely feel it like it’s hotter and dryer than the last few years,” said San Benito Fire Chief Raul Zuniga. “We’ve been making sure that whenever our firefighters go out anywhere that they are hydrated with water and Gatorade… and that should be the public as well.”
