Ernesto Burgos Jr. took the podium at this past Tuesday night’s meeting to present what he calls an “over estimate” of the cost to repair the city pool. Burgos is a San Benito native and owner of Burgos Pool and Spa Supplies. He estimates pool repairs could cost up to $81,100. This estimate includes costs that potentially can be cut if certain equipment do not need to be replaced. “When we went out there to inspect, the electricity wasn’t working, so we weren’t able to see if the pumps work. . . If they do, we don’t have to replace them,” Burgos noted.
