1st annual STEM day held at SBHS

Drones, robots, and gadgets were on full display for students Wednesday, making the San Benito High school gym look like the set to a new sci-fi movie. The presentation was for the first annual Gear-Up Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) day, showing students the different aspects and opportunities of a higher education.

While students from Texas A&M University Kingsville, University of Texas-Pan American, Texas State Technical College, and University of Texas at Brownsville showed off their inventions and talked about their work, Gear-Up Coordinator Patricia Sandoval could see the event she organized getting kids excited about the possibilities presented to them
