The Cameron Appraisal District [CAD] Board of Directors convened at 5:45 p.m. on May 19 for the board’s regular monthly meeting.
The agenda included approval of minutes from the April 21 meeting and a review of financial reports for April.
Board members considered appointing up to four individuals to the Cameron Appraisal Review Board and discussed the terms for both new and reappointed members.
A presentation was scheduled from True Prodigy regarding the implementation of a conferencing module to modernize and streamline district operations.
The Chief Appraiser’s report covered first-quarter updates, ongoing protests, legal matters, and preparations for an upcoming audit and budget workshop.
The office will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. The next meeting is scheduled for June 9, and the proposed 2026 budget will be on the agenda.
A discussion item concerning the role of the Taxpayer Liaison Officer was also included.
The Cameron Appraisal District is responsible for discovering, listing, and appraising property within Cameron County for local tax purposes.
