Wayne Dolcefino of Dolcefino Consulting out of Houston returned to the Micky D. Channel aired on social media to discuss his progress in San Benito and other projects.

Dolcefino expressed interest in opening an office in the Rio Grande Valley due to the amount of coverage he is doing in the area, adding that he considered a location in front of San Benito City Hall.

Dolcefino recounted his initial call to San Benito, citing sources coming forward about the dealings within the San Benito Economic Development Corporation [EDC] and its alleged lack of cooperation with multiple developers. He recalled “stumbling” on alleged nepotism in San Benito, calling it a trend in the RGV.

Dolcefino said the issue with VARCO, the developer at odds with the San Benito EDC, was established before he covered the city, and he said that there were many people who were afraid of retaliation from the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District [CISD] because it is a large employer in the area.

“Do not be afraid of this recall. This is your opportunity,” Dolcefino said.

The recall in question references an effort to remove city commissioners and the mayor from office. Dolcefino said the petition used in the recall requires at least 35% of the initial voting population. Dolcefino said he had no direct hand in the recall, but merely assisted the citizens in organizing. He urges the powers within the school district to let the people know that they will not suffer any backlash from the recall.

The video also referenced a newspaper article about the supposed negotiations between the San Benito EDC and VARCO. Dolcefino emphasized the importance of gaining new leadership to increase possible business.

“It can be solved tomorrow morning… if you let them finish this project. What is there to negotiate?” said Dolcefino.

He continued to say that the people behind VARCO were likely eager to complete the project, but the EDC needed to allow them to do so.

Dolcefino recounted his attempt to gain Jose Morales’, a former EDC Board Member, phone records while still in the EDC. The attempt ended with Morales leaving the role and being replaced by his wife, Debrah Morales. Dolcefino insisted that nepotism was unethical, even if it was not entirely illegal.

Dolcefino, whose background is in broadcast journalism, has produced a series of video segments that have been uploaded to the internet, and are critical of the City, City officials, and the current administration.

Dolcefino expressed fear that if the recall fails, the EDC would be “emboldened” to continue as it is.
“I hope people stand up,” Dolcefino said.

He continued to say that if the “hundreds” of people who expressed disdain for the EDC signed the petition, it would be a “fresh start.”

He disclosed that the petition names will be public information, but to not let that keep the public from acting. Dolcefino encouraged the public to alert him to any threats made to them or someone they knew.

“I want you to call me. I will personally come down there, and I will chase them down the street,” promised Dolcefino.

The hosts encouraged the citizens of San Benito to “stand on your morals.”

Dolcefino clarified that he had “no interest” in the Mayor’s parents. This is in response to Guerra’s quote in a San Benito News story to “knock the — “ out of Dolcefino, should he “harass” his parents.

Dolcefino said he plans on covering the towns of Donna and Mission, but that San Benito is his priority.

Dolcefino Consulting can be contacted at (713) 360-6911. The deadline to sign the recall is Oct. 18. The petition can be signed at Chuy’s Custom Sports, located at 1975 US-77 BUS, San Benito, TX 78586.
