San Benito Consolidated Independent School District’s [SBCISD] Homecoming celebrations are slated for next week, Sept. 16-20. SBCISD posted the announcement on its social media pages.
Also announced was the 50th reunion of the San Benito Belles. The “pride and joy” of San Benito is slated to have a special halftime performance during the Homecoming Parade at 7 p.m.
The Belles reunion will span across the week of Sept. 16-21. A schedule for the reunion is posted on the Belles’ official Instagram page. Monday, Sept. 16, and Tuesday, Sept. 17, are practice sessions at the San Benito High School indoor facility. Another practice at the Bobby Morrow Stadium is slated for Wednesday, Sept. 18. Thursday, Sept. 19, will see the Homecoming Parade at South Sam Houston Blvd. The lineup starts at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins at 6 p.m.
There will be one last practice on Friday, Sept. 20. A Belles performance is slated for later that day, at 7 p.m. A luncheon will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21.
Tumblers for the reunion are being sold on the official San Benito Belles Instagram page. The deadline to order them is Friday, Sept. 13. Tickets for the luncheon must be purchased through Alma Gonzalez, SBCISD Athletic Secretary, at (956) 361-6587. Spots are limited.
The annual Homecoming parade is slated to take place on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6 p.m. Interested parties who wish to participate in the Homecoming Parade must contact Dodie De La Fuente at ddelafuente@sbcisd.net. A full PDF sign-up sheet is available on the San Benito Schools website.
San Benito High School is holding its Homecoming Spirit Week, Sept.16-20. An announcement was made on the campus’ official Facebook account. Monday’s theme is “Heroes versus Villains” and students are encouraged to dress like their favorite villains and heroes. Tuesday’s theme is “Standing on Business,” where students can dress in professional attire. Wednesday’s theme is “Disney Day” and students are encouraged to wear Disney clothing. Thursday is “Jersey Day” and students can wear jerseys representing their favorite sports teams. Friday is a school spirit “Purple and Gold” day. Students are being asked to don the San Benito school colors.
