Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted subject accused of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the suspect, Armado Alvarado, 55, is charged with First Degree Felony Indecency with a Child, Second Degree Felony Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child/Children, First Degree Felony Online Solicitation of Minor and another third-degree felony.

According to the CCSO, on Friday, February 21, 2020, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence just outside the San Benito City Limits in reference to a past alleged aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Upon arrival, the responding deputy contacted the complainant who stated that her daughter had made an allegation of sexual assault against suspect Alvarado. A CCSO report noted that a Cameron County Sheriff’s Investigator collected enough evidence to support the allegations brought against Alvarado by the minor.

The Investigator assigned to the case was able to secure the warrants for the suspect for; T.P.C. 22.021: Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child, TPC 21.11: Indecency with a Child, TPC: 21.02: Continuous Sexual Abuse of Young Child or Children, and TPC: 33.021: Online Solicitation of a Minor. It was at that time that investigators learned the suspect had fled to Mexico, said CCSO investigators.

Authorities are asking individuals with information on Alvarado’s whereabouts to contact the CCSO at (956) 554-6700 or the Cameron County Crime Stoppers anonymously at (956) 350-5551. Investigators are reminding the public that anonymous tips could lead to a reward.
