Alleged road incident leads to arrest

RIO HONDO, TX—According to a prepared statement by Cameron County Sheriff Eric Garza and the Cameron County Sherriff’s Office (CCSO), on Sunday, October 8, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to the 37000 block of Marshal Hutts Road in Rio Hondo regarding an alleged road rage incident.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke to the victim who reported that the driver of a second vehicle attempted to run his vehicle off the road. The victim said that he stopped on the side of the road and was approached by the driver of the second vehicle.

The victim reported that as he opened the door to his vehicle, the other driver allegedly hit the door, causing it to pin the victim between the door and vehicle.
