The San Benito Chamber of Commerce hosts Casino Night on November 2, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at Oak Hill Event Center in San Benito.
The Chamber usually hosts Casino Night at the beginning of November as a fundraiser to assist its needs and help provide supplies for all business members.
Hosted annually, it grows bigger and better each year. Chamber Director Cathy Weaver said, “The San Benito Chamber has grown throughout the years with new members, as the city’s seen new growth. This year’s event will bring the city together with both businesses and community.” In 2020, the Chamber and other local businesses closed due to COVID-19, which caused the Chamber to decline. In 2023, it is seeing tremendous development due to new businesses, the board of directors, and community growth and support.
Community members interested in supporting the event can purchase tickets for $40 each, which includes a meal and casino chips. They can also refer businesses to sponsor and share on social media to promote the event. Weaver spoke about the importance of social media for events such as Casino Night, “Most social media is free as well reaches a vast area whether, businesses or the public, in a quicker amount of time. This is one of the main resources that we use to announce events or public information throughout the day…We ask the community to like our Facebook page to see which events are coming up that you may want to attend to support businesses here in San Benito.”
While Casino Night will cost at least $40, many of the Chamber’s events are free and open to the public, such as Coffee with the Chamber, Lunch and Learns, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies.
