Robbery suspect placed in custody

According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), on July 20, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the Dollar General store located on 33007 FM 732 in San Benito in reference to an aggravated robbery.

Upon arrival, the deputies made contact with the store manager and took his statement. As per the manager, an unknown male subject came into the store, approached him and held a knife to his back demanding that he open the cash register.

According to the CCSO, the suspect was able to steal hundreds of dollars from the cash register and flee the scene. The deputies searched the surrounding areas but were not able to locate the male suspect.

According to the CCSO, in the course of the investigation, investigators walked and canvassed large areas that were adjacent to the crime scene. In addition, investigators were able to gather witness statements and obtain crucial evidence that identified a 14-year-old as the prime suspect.

    Idiot! Easy money. There’s lots of jobs you can do. Go help a yard worker or clean someone’s house . Glad he was caught.
    At these age what can he need money for. Junk in the materialistic world we live in. The world we live in and at this age.
