Throughout his storied career, Elias Martinez has long been considered the premier softball coach in the Valley and among the best in Texas. The legendary coach wrapped up the 25th regular season of his career this past Tuesday with a dominant 15-0 victory over Donna North.

The win clinched a playoff spot for the Lady ’Hounds and will go down as the 600th win of Martinez’s career – a feat only five coaches in Texas have ever accomplished.

“Being able to get win 600 here at home, in front of our loyal fans, it’s very humbling,” said Martinez. “It’s really a tribute to the girls I’ve been able to coach in the past and this year.”

“Lady ’Hounds softball is not about one player or one coach; it’s about all of us coming together and working our tails off. I couldn’t be prouder of the program.”
