It’s arguably the most exciting time of the year in San Benito as the state softball playoffs have arrived and the District 31-5A champion Lady ’Hounds are geared up for what many hope will be another magical postseason journey.

The Lady ’Hounds (24-4) will take the first step in defending the Region-IV Class 5A title when they square off with former district foe Harlingen (18-10) in a bi-district one-game playoff on Thursday night at Lady ’Hound Field. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
