There’s one week left for candidates to file in the upcoming races for the San Benito CISD and Cities of San Benito and Rio Hondo May general elections before the Feb. 28 deadline, and little by little each race is beginning to take shape.
The incumbents for the San Benito municipal elections have all filed for re-election, including Mayor Joe H. Hernandez, Place 1 City Commissioner Tony Gonzales and Pl. 2 Commissioner Rene Villafranco.
Local business owner Shirley Vega has officially filed for the Pl. 2 seat on the San Benito City Commission. Vega will be attempting to unseat current Pl. 2 incumbent Villafranco.

What is happening in Rio Hondo will happen in this district if spending is not controlled. San Benito has also lost 143 students according to the newspaper story. The suspended superintendent left a fund balance of of 18 million the highest it has ever been, but at the rate this board is spending money it will be gone before long.
ATTN: SCHOOL BOARD AND HOPEFULS
Just imagine the money that could have been saved if Mr. Limon would be the Superintendent and money wouldn’t be wasted on two interims.
Don’t argue that whatever Mr. Limon did was wrong. If he did something wrong, he would have been fired and possibly in jail somewhere. All political mumbo jumbo bs!
SBCISD could have brought back end of the year steaks! YEAH BABY!
3 corrupt politicians not doing a dam thing for the city .
