San Benito, TX – Elena S. Guardiola, 86, of San Benito, TX passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at her residence in San Benito, surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ignacio J. Guardiola, Sr.; a brother, Juan Sanchez; and a grandson, James Ryan Guardiola.
Elena is survived by her daughter, Belinda (Sam) Esparza of San Benito, TX; her son, Ignacio (Alma) Guardiola, Jr. of San Benito, TX; her sisters, Elida Marichalar of Corpus Christi, TX, Ofelia Cruz of San Benito, TX, Lupana Garza of Houston, TX, and Irma Ysaguirre of Ohio; her brother, David Sanchez of Brownsville, TX; 11 grandchildren, Carlos (Rosie) Esparza, Lori (Mark), 
Sanchez, Samuel (Karina) Esparza, Jr., Mari (Rudy) Rodriguez, Samantha (Fernando) Castillo, Christine Guardiola, Elizabeth (Randy) Hernandez, and Justin (Miriam) Guardiola; Terry Rogers, Stephanie Esparza, and Rose Ann Esparza; and her 17 great grandchildren.
She was an active member with Iglesia de Dios Church in San Benito, TX.
Chapel Service was held on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home. Interment followed to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
