Music, dancing, drinks, a full house and a good night all around were the sights to see at the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s Fifth Annual Noche de Ronda Valentine’s Dance on Saturday.
Conjunto Music HOF and Museum President Rey Avila credited the turnout to the featured singer, Tejano legend Noe Pro.
“Just the name by itself draws people in,” Avila said. “This is the fifth year and we are going to have him again, possibly even for a Mothers’ Day dance in May.”
“Tonight turned out pretty good,” said Avila as he reported their attendance peaked at about 600; an estimated $6,000 was raised to benefit the Conjunto Music HOF and Museum in town as well as a scholarship for four Conjunto singers in the high school.
Noche de Ronda, Avila explained, more or less means a night on the town.
