Relationship issues landed a local man in the county jail, twice, on two consecutive days, for allegedly violating a court order and a family violence charge.
On Friday, January 19, 2024, at around 10 p.m., Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on the 100 block of South San Roman, in Los Fresnos, in reference to an alleged disturbance.
According to a Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) report, upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies made contact with a 40-year-old female attempting to unlock the front gate to the property.
Deputies reported that a male subject, later identified as Johnny Loera, could be heard telling the female to not open the gate because the deputies did not have permission to be on the property.
The female reported that she had a verbal argument with Loera in reference to his alleged infidelity. She continued by saying that Loera became aggressive by throwing a tool bag towards her feet and physically stepped on her feet, causing her pain and discomfort.
The complainant said that as she walked to the front gate of the property to wait for responding deputies, Loera followed her. The complainant added that upon seeing the CCSO units arriving, Loera became upset, allegedly pushing her against the fence, causing her pain and discomfort.
Sheriff’s deputies informed Loera of his Miranda warnings, the CCSO report reads. Deputies report that
Loera became uncooperative and belligerent when asked about the events between him and the victim.
Accordion to the CCSO report, sheriff’s deputies arrested Loera and transported him to the Cameron County Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center in Olmito pending arraignment. Loera was charged with Assault Family Violence, TPC: 22.01, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
A day earlier, on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at around 10 p.m., Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a welfare concern on Kornegay Rd. in San Benito. The welfare concern regarded a female who was in the company of her boyfriend, identified as Loera.
According the CCSO, upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies patrolled the area and located a vehicle matching the description provided in the welfare check request. Deputies then made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and identified Loera as the driver and a 35-year-old female passenger named in the welfare concern.
Deputies learned a protective order was in place naming the female passenger as the protected party and Loera as having restrictions, namely to stay 200 feet from the protected party. Deputies found Loera to allegedly be in violation of the protective order, a CCSO report states.
Deputies then arrested Loera and transported him to the Cameron County Carrizales-Rucker Detention Center pending arraignment. Loera was charged with the Violation of Certain Court Orders, TPC: 25.07, a Class “A” Misdemeanor.
