City event rescheduled

The City of San Benito’s inaugural City Hall for All, which was first reported in last week’s edition of the San Benito News, has been rescheduled from Thursday, January 25 to Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The event is still taking place from 4-7 p.m. at Fire Station No. 1, located at 1201 S. Sam Houston Blvd, San Benito.

In an effort to help build community outreach, the City of San Benito is launching its inaugural event.
Elected officials, city administration and various department directors will be on hand to answer questions, discuss issues and provide valuable education pertaining to City operations.

“We are taking City Hall to the residents in their own neighborhoods,” said San Benito City Manager Fred Sandoval. “We plan on making this a monthly affair and moving it to a different area of the City each time.”
Future dates and locations of City Hall for All will be announced throughout the year on the City’s website at www.CityofSanBenito.com, on its Facebook page @San Benito TX City Hall or on X, formerly known as Twitter, @SanBenitoTX.

Sandoval came aboard as San Benito City Manager in late Nov. 2023 following the departure of his predecessor, Manuel De La Rosa. From the start, city leaders asked the new city head to improve community outreach, which was a point of strong criticism against the former city manager.

The general public is encouraged to attend. This is a free event. For more information, call City Hall at (956) 361-3800.
