On April 10, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Leal Rd. in San Benito, in reference to a suspicious person.
According to the Cameron County Sherriff’s Office (CCSO), upon arrival, responding deputies made contact with the suspect, Nathaniel Brena, 17-years-old. After a name inquiry was conducted through Cameron County Dispatch, the deputies were informed that Brena was a possible suspect in another case for evading arrest.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that earlier on April 10, 2023, Brena had allegedly fled from CCSO Deputies. In addition, according to the CCSO, Brena had been reported as a runaway last January.
