Man arrested on aggravated sexual assault charge

A 17-year-old San Benito man was arrested last week for aggravated sexual assault and prohibited sexual contact. According to a press release, Jose Alfonso Torres-Munoz was apprehended on Thursday, March 26th after his victim, a female family member, made an outcry to a school administrator which led to an investigation into the matter. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) also placed a detainer on Torres-Munoz, pending a citizen status investigation.
