After going several months without an executive director of housing following the resignation of Arnold Padilla, the San Benito Public Housing Authority (SBPHA) Board of Directors named their new successor this past Monday with the hiring of Tony Hasbargen. Hasbargen, who came from Illinois where he held a similar title for 12 years, is expected to start his job duties this week while still relocating from his home state.

This is interesting, city officials ( I guess that means the Mayor) and board chairman Mr Ron Rogers have strong support and defend the hiring but refuse to comment on why the new director was fired from his last position as director of a housing authority. As a taxpayer, I am not getting a good vibe from this.
