Waiting Game: Plant No. 1 repairs on hold

You know that itch on your back you just can’t reach? Well that’s pretty much the case for the City of San Benito and the continuous annoyance of problems arising from their Water Plant Systems.

After the City’s new Water Plant (No. 2) was deemed inoperable last year, it has been forced to go back and rely on the 87-yr old property/building in Plant 1, but now there are problems there as well.

According to Victor Gutierrez of Coym, Rehmet & Gutierrez Engineering LP — the civil engineering firm working with Lou Portillo in the evaluation of Plant No. 1 — the city is missing vital documentation that clarifies whether certain areas on the property are even in fact owned by the City of San Benito.
