Man who pulled gun had ongoing dispute with brother-in-law

According to Justice of the Peace David Garza, the incident that happened on Sunday, Dec. 21 in which a man pulled a gun on his brother-in-law, was part of an ongoing dispute between the two.

As previously reported in the San Benito News, Charles Lopez Sr. was arrested on after reportedly pulling a loaded pistol on his brother-in-law.

Garza said Friday that the two men have allegedly had an ongoing dispute. Also according to Garza, Lopez has no prior criminal history.

Officers with the San Benito Police Department responded to a call around 4:35 p.m. on December 21, to a residence on the 800 block of Fresno Street. in San Benito. At that time, officers were advised by witnesses that the two men had been arguing on the street.

The argument reportedly led to punches being thrown by both Lopez, 44, and the brother-in-law.
