Will God call an individual who seems to be in a deserted and desolate place? Will God call a person who has seemingly lost it all? Will God call someone that society has said has fallen too far? Do any of these descriptions sound like your life and current circumstances? In spite of these challenges do you believe God is calling you even now?

The following can be found in the book of Exodus Chapters 1 and 2.

Let’s consider some of the facts of Moses life. He was born a Hebrew. He was born in a time when Pharaoh was ordering all of the Hebrew male children murdered at birth. The Hebrews were slaves to the Egyptians. The idea was that there were too many of them. They were going to take over the land of the Egypt. Maybe the circumstances around your birth have some of the same characteristics? Born into poverty. Born into an outcast segment of society. Born into a time and situation that you were not really wanted? Does that mean that God has forgotten about you? Does that mean he will not call you? I promise you that when God has a plan for your life not even the most powerful person on the planet can stop it!

Moses’ mother put him in a basket in the Nile River trusting that God would lead him to a safe place. Guess who found him? The daughter of Pharaoh himself! The one who ordered his death would be the one responsible for giving him life, an education and an opportunity to learn to lead! Moses would grow up in the very household of the most powerful political leader on the planet at that time. What the Pharaoh meant for his harm God turned out for the good of Moses!

Who ended up nursing him after Pharaoh’s daughter found him? His own mother! His sister was watching her little brother float down the river. When she saw Pharaoh’s daughter draw him from the water she hurried over and asked, “Shall I find a woman of the Hebrew slaves to breast feed him?” Pharaoh’s daughter responded, “yes.” Moses’ own mother was brought in to continue to give her son life. There is nothing impossible for God to orchestrate when it comes to your life and your life’s call! Nothing is too difficult for God – nothing!

“For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be,” (Psalm 139: 13-16 NIV).

God Himself has personally ordained all of your days! He has written each one of them down even before any of them came to be! There is no one – no one! – and nothing that can undo what God has ordered concerning you! Not a President! Not a king! No wicked person in any position! Not any difficult circumstance of life! Not even the devil!

My father died of a heart attack when I was 7. My mother drowned when I was 10. I have buried a child. I have been through a divorce. I have seen one of my daughters become a widow. I have seen my oldest son go to jail. I lost my job. Then I lost my house. I had to sell all we owned. My vehicle was repossessed. I have overcome drug addiction and alcohol abuse. None of that could keep me from becoming the man that God has called me to be.

None of these circumstances can stop any of you. He has ordered each of the days of our lives. He will fulfill His plans and purposes for you. You are not forgotten. Even now, the call of God is coming to some of those who read these words. It is not over. It’s just the beginning. God is calling – Listen!
