Texas requires voters to present a current ID when voting. Ideally, one should be prepared to show their current voter registration card and a current form of photo ID when qualifying to vote at a polling location. Your voter registration card contains your 10 digit Voter Registration Certificate Number/VUID, which is used in the verification and documentation process of voting. The following are the accepted forms of Documentation of Proof of Identification Sec.63.0101.: “(1) a driver’s license, election identification certificate, or personal identification card issued to the person by the Department of Public Safety that has not expired or that expired no earlier than 60 days before the date of presentation; (2) a United States military identification card that contains the person’s photograph that has not expired or that expired no earlier than 60 days before the date of presentation; (3) a United States citizenship certificate issued to the person that contains the person’s photograph; (4) a United States passport issued to the person that has not expired or that expired no earlier than 60 days before the date of presentation; or (5) a license to carry a concealed handgun issued to the person by the Department of Public Safety that has not expired or that expired no earlier than 60 days before the date of presentation.
An election identification certificate is free and available to people who have no other form of identification. For more details on this option, please visit www.txdps.state.texas.us/DriverLicense/electionID.htm.
If you happen to lose your voter registration card or your photo ID, you may still vote by casting a provisional ballot. No registered voter may be turned away from voting. You have the right to vote provisional by going to your polling place and executing an affidavit stating that you are a registered voter eligible to vote in the election. This form will be provided to you by the election judge of your polling place. You will be given a provisional ballot and allowed to vote. You will also be given a card informing you that you have six days after Election Day to go to the county elections office and verify your ID and/or voter precinct so that your vote will be counted.
Important dates to mark on your calendar for this election cycle: Oct. 6 – deadline to register to vote; Oct. 20 – first day of early voting; Oct. 31 – last day of early voting; and Nov. 4 – Election Day.
On a different subject, I would like to remind everyone out there that in order to vote by mail or absentee ballot, a voter must be age 65 or older, out of town during the election dates, or physically unable to go to a polling place without endangering his or her safety. If you or a family member receives an unsolicited mail-in ballot application in the mail, this does not mean that you are required to vote by mail. It is neither a guarantee that you are eligible to vote by mail. Please beware of unsolicited voting materials sent your way. Please help protect the integrity of our elections by voting in person if you are able. Also, remember that if you vote by mail, please put the ballot in the mail yourself and do not let anyone touch your ballot.
We have covered voter rights, voter assistance, voter registration, poll watching and more. Please visit www.VoteTexas.gov to stay informed. You may join Citizens Against Voter Abuse on Facebook or contact me directly at (956) 280-5965. God Bless the USA!

The only reason I printed my address/phone is because since I sell real estate its out there on the internet. Thank you and will take your advise.
And I am relaxed; absolutely nothing done illegally.
Thanks for reading by blog.
Relax Rosalinda G. Garcia. If you have done nothing illegal, you have nothing to worry about.
Learn to pick your battles. You will never win a battle against people who prefer to comment under anonymity.
And for heavens sake, Never, Ever publish online your personal phone number or any personal information.
There are malicious “robot software computer programs” that troll all the comments sections of all web sites to collect phone numbers and email id’s.
Stand your ground but do it in a safe way.
@ Rosalinda Garcia
Don’t me too quick to call the kettle black, Rosalinda! If I recall correctly, weren’t you the very person who brought negatively through the length of the recent campaign process. So, quit being such a hypocrite because you might eat crow. Like the saying goes, “You play with fire, you will get burned”. Only time will tell…
BTW:
I know a lot of good people in San Benito that do not support the same candidates that I do. I know that they would never be rude and disrespectful like some of the bloggers negative comments. And yes, you can print anything you care to within reason. Don’t do unto others what you don’t want done to you. And if I have offended you; I am sorry. Peace be with you.
Thank you for reading my blog!

To: Applaud the Progress 2.
Oh, so now I am ignorant and have a big mouth and cheat? I violated the law?
To: If the shoe fits : So now I take advantage of the elderly?
Again, my phone number is [Removed by Moderator]
My address is: [Removed by Moderator]
Should you need it for the future to call Austin, because you seem to be certain that I violated the law.
The way I do things is to work very hard; not cheat. I stay up late hrs. to better myself at my profession. Anna Cruz, like my myself and many others, worked hard in the fields. We are grateful that we have attained our degrees, etc. And we want for every child to have the best opportunity to be able to succeed. And next spring, once again I am going to work very hard toward getting Anna Cruz re-elected for school board. Simple.
I will be registering people to vote; knocking on doors, application for ballot by mail, phone calls, flyers, letters, fundraisers. I have an excellent political mentor: Sandra Tumberlinson!!!
And there will probably be a response like: we don’t need your phone number, they already have it.
or they will be watching me closely in spring?
Blah Blah Blah
Thanks for reading my blog!
I sense fear Rosie! “Excellent political mentor”?!?! You have very low standards if Sandra Tumberlinson is who you look up to politically. She too is under investigation for the flyer she circulated in May , cutting down our own race. Is this how you want to adovate for our children, by teaching them about racism and discrimination? Both Sandra and her husband are crooks, just like you!
Mary Helen: Great Job and continue to expose the ignorant..
It looks like Rosalinda Garcia will be under investiaftion due to her ignorance and big mouth.. Thats the problem with poeple like yourself who thinks they know it all and cheat to get your way. You will have a rude awaking coming your way if you contniue to violate the law. We might be seeing you on the headline news as the San Benito politicera busted for voter fraud.. Can’t wait!!
The election code definition of disability is different than the definition of disability used to issue parking permits. Please read the statute to be fully informed. Disability in the election code means that a person may vote by mail if they are endangering their physical safety by going to a polling place.
Again, thank you Ms. Flores for advocating for voters, particularly the elderly who are most often taken advantage of like Ms. Garcia and others. Again, “brace yourselves for whats up ahead” as stated by the elections division lady up in Austin.
Next school board election my goal is to issue at least 200 ” Applications for Ballot By Mail” to the age group “over 65” . On another note….On the “Application for Ballot by Mail” it states the reasons to vote by mail are……65 years of age or older, disability, expected absence from the county, and confinement in jail.
It does not state the following as a reason to vote by mail: “physically unable to go to a polling place without endangering his or her safety” as stated in an article I read.
I feel the writer is giving the opinion that if someone is physically able to go vote they should. And I understand why, to discourage voter fraud through mail in votes.
The law states if you are over 65 you can vote my mail, simple.
Thanks for reading my blog.
Again, thank you Mary Helen for all your efforts. I hear that the person who is stated in El Rrun Rrun above is trying to say he will sue for this or that, unfortunately, there is too much evidence against him to negate any wrongdoing. I called the state to verify if in fact they are investigating him/our election and although the lady in Austin couldn’t give me too many details she did say, “brace yourselves for what’s up ahead, there are several others also being investigated”. Could it be Mr. Butt cheek? or Ms. G?
Our Town needs a major enema to clean all the waste. With this investiagation into our election process is a huge step in the right direction. So for you individuals that think you pull the string in our poitical stands, you have soemthing coming. It’s very simple ” cheaters never win” and you’ll be reminded of that when the indictments come down.. So i suggested all you involved get out of town before our name and reputation is ruined for ever.. peace
With any luck there will be a few indictments from last SB City Election.
