PORT ISABEL – Two Los Fresnos residents were arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 17, in connection with five vehicle burglaries in Port Isabel.
According to Port Isabel Police Department reports, thefts occurred at Shark Tank, Port Isabel High School’s parking lot, Walgreens, Casa Rosa and The Gym.
Witnesses noticed two subjects, one male and one female, looking inside vehicles at a parking lot.
Police obtained a description of the suspects’ vehicle and informed officers. Port Isabel police officer Olga Gutierrez later identified and stopped a vehicle matching the description.
The report states that the male suspect’s grandmother was driving the vehicle and identified said suspect as 19-year-old Liam Schoepel. His girlfriend, Amber Miller, 18, was also identified as the other suspect allegedly involved in the crime. The two were living in Los Fresnos with the grandmother.
Both were arrested on warrants and are in the City jail awaiting arraignment.
