RIO HONDO – Rio Hondo High School is now registering teams for an end-of-summer basketball league.

RHHS head basketball coach Jose Guzman has hosted similar summer camps, tournaments and leagues for more than 10 years.

The season begins when all team slots are filled. Currently, there are three divisions that include: varsity, junior varsity/freshmen and junior high. Each team is given six games within their respective division. Slots are open on a first-come, first-served basis.

All games are played within one of two RHHS gymnasiums and officiated by certified referees. A game clock and scoreboard will be operated during all games.

Each game lasts for two separate 20 minute halves. All games take place from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

“The games are fast paced and very competitive,” Guzman said. “The games feel like and are treated like regular season games.”

Trophies will also be given to both first and second place winners of each division.

Teams must register with a 10-man roster and pay a registration fee.

For more information contact Coach Guzman at (956) 536-7497 or email the coach at coachjrguzman@gmail.com.
