Local leaders address influx of unaccompanied minors

Local leaders in San Benito have responded to the ever-growing demand to accommodate an influx of unaccompanied minors flooding the borders.

There are currently three shelters for immigrants in San Benito consisting of La Posada Providencia and two Southwest Key facilities that houses unaccompanied minors. But reports indicate that a fourth such facility will soon be opening at the building located at 299 E. Heywood St., which has been the longtime home of Borderland Calvary Chapel.
