SALES TAX REPORT: San Benito’s April collections show 4% spike

penniesSan Benito’s sales tax collections in the month of April experienced a 4.62 percent increase compared to the year prior – this after experiencing a slight decline in receipts in March.

According to sales tax figures reported by the Texas Comptroller’s Office, San Benito collected $319,387.53 in April, which is up from the $305,262.86 collected in April 2013.

Year-to-date sales tax collections for San Benito are currently at 0.71 percent less than at this time last year, when $2,005,996.50 in receipts were collected compared to the $1,991,638.27 presently reported.
