Husband accused of broomstick assault; stabbing wife on thigh

San Benito police officers on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly assaulting his wife with a broomstick.

According to a San Benito Police Department news release, a domestic disturbance report was made at approximately 10:15 a.m. Sunday, May 18 at an apartment complex located on the 2000 block of East Stenger Street.

Upon arrival, police made contact with a 41-year-old woman who claimed that her 58-year-old husband, identified as Eduardo Ramirez, has assaulted her with a broomstick and stabbed her with a kitchen knife.
