Elections graphicThe first two days of early voting in the San Benito municipal and school board elections proved much more active than in years past.

As of Tuesday, April 29, approximately 1,108 voters have participated in early voting, nearly twice the amount of the 2012 elections which saw a total of 661 votes after two days.

According to San Benito CISD Business Manager Emma McCall, approximately 353 voters cast their ballots early for the SBCISD School Board elections on Monday and 296 on Tuesday – a total of 649. In the last election, 234 early votes were cast the first day and 192 on the second for a total of 426.

Hopefully the numbers are up because voters want change. I went to vote at the School election and politicos got all the parking spaces along the street. I know they have a right to be there but the law should be changed, Make it 200 feet from the polls instead of 50. It is so third world to have all these folks shouting who to vote for, as if we will change our minds by whoever is louder.
