San Benito’s preliminary STAAR results substandard

Pencil on notebook.San Benito CISD has released the test results from the first administration of the 2014 STAAR (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness) exam for the fifth and eighth grade levels.

As a district, SBCISD fifth graders had 67 percent passing in Reading and 69 percent passing in Math. In comparison, the state had 76 percent passing in Reading and 79 percent passing in Math.

SBCISD eighth graders had 76 percent passing in Reading and 74 percent passing in Math. Eighth graders in the state had 82 percent passing in Reading and 79 percent passing in Math.

    @Ryan. I hear you bro……but it is what it is. Politics. All I can say is if you want to try and change things people need to get out and vote to make a change on the board.

    Seems like the education or lack there of, is not important to the residents of San Benito. The scores are not even in alignment with the state! This post has zero comments but the election ones have tons! Priorities People Priorities!!
