Rosie Cavazos is seen Friday morning inside the remains of her Franklin Street home, which suffered extensive fire damage in January.

Rosie Cavazos had a plan: Retire at the age of 62 from the Plano Independent School District, where she worked for 28 years as a bilingual paraprofessional; move back to her hometown of San Benito and live in the house where she and her six siblings were raised.

Unfortunately for Rosie, retiring early may no longer be an option as her family home, located on the 500 block of Franklin Street in San Benito, sustained extensive damage in a Jan. 19 fire.
