Eight-liner machines are seen inside the Prize Barn in San Benito on Thursday following a raid conducted by local authorities in the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office Operation Bishop.

The Prize Barn in San Benito was raided Thursday by local law enforcement authorities as part of an ongoing effort to curb illegal gambling in the area.

Operation Bishop, a multi-agency effort launched by the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office and aided by the County Sheriff’s Department and local police departments, has targeted illegally-operated eight-liner and sweepstakes businesses since April 2013.

Kudos to the DA. Keep it up until they are all gone! These speakeasy places are a blight on the community.
How can the City not know these places exist in the first place??
