Timeline set for applicant interviews

NEWS Staff Report

Hound logoSan Benito CISD officials have released a tentative timeline detailing the interview and selection process once the list of applicants for the Greyhound head football coach and athletic director position has been narrowed down from 52 to five.

The number of those vying for the opening has risen from 51 to 52 since Friday. SBCISD officials confirmed that an application was received on Friday, Feb. 21, but was inadvertently delivered to the wrong facility within the school district.

You hire someone who is subject to the same political pressures that are imposed just like SBCISD, you remain in the same rut. No matter who you hire, San Benito will always remain San Benito. A tiny, tiny, tiny fish in a huge ocean.

Mary Saldana,, Ignorance is deceiving. How many African American and Hispanic NFL players are out there ? How many NFL African American Coaches or Hispanic Coaches are out there ? Culture has very , very little to do with success. If that was the case, we definitely would need the height of a coach to be at least five feet, six inches, not one inch less. the players need to identify with the coach according to you , we have tall lean boys on both sides of the field, we most definitely need a tall, lean athletic looking young coach. Case and point , Little Rey would not make the cut. We need to be honest and think with our brains , not just emotions my dear older lady. Hugs and kisses. P.S. Coach Tommy Roberts was my one of three brothers coaches, up to this day , they still consider him one of the most valuable influences in their lives. They had great memories of advice and yes el gringo coached them to many victories ! Skin Color has nothing to do with winning, I am know as la prietita and that doesn’t mean I can coach the boys to victory ! Discrimination and reverse discrimination is ignorance in highest form. Let’s look past skin color and focus on the candidates wins and losses that season.

Chuy & Yliana will work together since Chuy empowers women! 10-4 on the tablets, that don’t work! But all the head coaches I know, won’t use Chuy or his less than mediocre business. Leave that up to King Kong and his Banana!

Maybe ” THE 4″ will purchase new jerseys for the varsity football team from Chuy and “SAVE” the district money.
