Demencio Salazar Sr.
SAN BENITO—Demencio Salazar, Sr., 74, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014 in Austin, TX.
Demencio was born September 2, 1939 in San Benito, TX. He attended San Benito High School and was employed at HCISD. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and loved watching sports and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Eloisa Salazar, his brothers Jose Salazar and Martin Salazar, Jr. and a daughter Yvonne Castellano.
Demencio is survived by his wife of 53 years, Yolanda Salazar; his children Laura Esquivel (Jerry), Norma Salazar and Demencio Salazar, Jr.; his grandchildren Albert Lee Weaver III, Valerie Paz (Felix), Robert Castellano, Devon Salazar; and great-grandchildren Angelica Ramirez, Robert Castellano III, Dominic Moreno, Hannah Castellano, Jasmine Paz, Felix Mateo Paz and Nicolas Castellano.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary at 7 p.m. at San Benito Funeral Home.
