List of Greyhound hopefuls swells by 12

NEWS Staff report

And the list continues to grow.

Late Friday, the number of those vying for the San Benito Greyhounds’ Athletic Director/Head Football Coach opening has risen to 51, according to a list of applicants provided to the San Benito News by San Benito CISD.

There are 12 new additions to the list aside from former Valley View and Santa Rosa head coach Joshua Gonzalez and current Greyhound assistant Joel Lopez, who were announced earlier this week.

Though no official timeline has been announced, sources close to the situation have told the News that the consulting firm hired by the district to conduct the search intends to interview possibly 10 candidates in the coming days. In the final cut, three to five names would be submitted for recommendation.

*to richard: more additional superintendent(s)and personnel director… JUST ABOUT RIGHT for this board who do not know how to let the interim supt do his job… wait a minute, he is just going along for the pay, all for $550 a day

*I sure hope the district has saved enough money in their budget because when this is all done, Mr. Limon is going to take them to town at least we hope he does. How that BOARD has treated him is unforgivable.

*Do not know how those board members can sleep at night… wait a minute, they sleep fine because THEY ARE RUNNING THE DISTRICT! Just ask the board members and see what their response is… “best interest of the district” that response is getting old 10 months later

*Who in their right mind would want to come to SBCISD more less enroll their children here? Not me, my grandchildren have enrolled at IDEA.

    *Go Dragons!

  1. They need to choose a coach that brings with him a WINING PROGRAM. I am tried of the programs the cheerleaders hand out before every game.

We will soon know if the Champion group is for real. Will they interview the best 10 applicants, are will they give in to political pressure and interview those that claim they can deliver votes the next election. It is going to be interesting! Also on another note, this board is going to redo the organizational chart and hire some additional assistant superintendents and personnel director. Just rewarding their political friends and securing some more votes! The previous administration held open the personnel directors position for 9 years saving the district 100k a year in salary cost. Almost a million in savings and now they need additional assistant superintendents and directors?
